Are you having problems that are forcing you to give up your pet?   Moving to a new home? Having a baby? Allergies?  Please check the Can We Help You Keep Your Pet site! They have lots solutions that might help you keep your pet.

If you're having difficulty finding an apartment that will let you keep your pets, check out http://www.myapartmentmap.com/pet_friendly.

Before you decide to give away your pet by placing a "Free To Good Home" listing in your local newspaper, please read this site - PetRescue.org and this article from Ahimsa of Texas.

Contacting us about returning a dog adopted from MCSPCA

Please be patient
The MCSPCA is staffed completely by volunteers.  We all have full-time jobs and commitments outside the MCSPCA. We strive to return calls and emails promptly, but there may be a delay depending on the volume. Please do not expect a response within a few hours. If your situation is urgent, please let us know,  but also try one of the other humane organizations (see Links Page). Do not abandon your animal outside, or give it away to a stranger!

Temporary Boarding
We sometimes get requests from pet owners needing a place to board their animals for a few months. Unfortunately, we do not have the foster care resources to accommodate such requests. We suggest that owners in this situation contact boarding kennels, other humane organizations, or prevail upon family/friends.  You might also try contacting the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters to find a pet sitter near you.

If you have any questions, please email us and we'll answer you as soon as possible!  You can call the MCSPCA at 301-948-4266, but for the fastest response, please use our email address.   For info on how to write to us, see our contact page.
